First off, if you do not have a clue what I'm getting at here, be advised, there's a thing out there called Wikipedia which tells you things - like THESE.

Having clarified that, we are proud to announce a free release called KSO 10 (Trees), a collaboration effort between DJ Kompact and renown Brooklyn rap-artist Cerebral Vortex. It's a quite explicit ode to the high life and also a teaser to the forthcoming KORG DS-10 project EP by Kompact called One Week.

Sonido Ojo Rojo´s first Single-Release "Blessed" by DJ Kompact feat. Rider Shafique & Caroline Scott appears on the new FM4 Sound Selection Vol. 21, a double CD compilation by austrian broadcast station FM4.

SOR Update & an old but loved gem....

As you might have noticed already, Sonido Ojo Rojo stands for quality tunes but is far from being a major with a 500+ people staff. Handmade quality takes time, that's why we want to apologize for any delays and give you a little update of what's going on right now:
SOR004 DJ Kompact - Illuminate 7" is in its final stages of production and we've updated the Releases page accordingly so you can prelisten to the tracks. Pre-ordering is open now via email or later this month via hhv.de or juno.co.uk.

Stay tuned for this one!

Now to something different: Most of you might already know it, it's one of my personal favorite mixes named Blunted in the Bomb Shelter by Madlib. It's a truly blunted mix of 45 Trojan releases and available to download for free now. Get the whole story behind this gem and the files at the Rappcats Blog.

SOR releases now LIVE!

As you might have noticed, Sonido Ojo Rojo hasn't been sleeping this year and put out 2 releases already with another one waiting to be dropped in August.

With a growing number of stores, both online and physical, we thought this might be the time to update you about the current situation:

Releases SOR002 DJ Kompact - Return Of July 7" and SOR003 Obahuba - Hart & Zart 12" can be found in these cities: Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Munich, Berlin, Barcelona, London and New York City with an ever growing shop list. For further details head over to the corresponding release pages.

"Blessed" on we funk show 565!

After years of listening to and posting about one of the finest web radios out there: wefunkradio.com, it's finally happened and they put Sonido Ojo Rojo's very first vinyl release "Blessed feat. Rider Shafique & Caroline Scott" in their special Europe tour mix with mad other tracks, definitely worth checking out. Get Show 565 right here!

ROTAUG GOES FLORIDO TONITE!!!

Yeeeah! What a nice welcome to this summer! Starting today, July 17th, 20:00, with Sonido Ojo Rojo's own Lens J. and Exidas kicking it off, there will be a Friday regular the whole summer long until the beginning of September (depending on the weather) at freshly pimped Florido Independent Beach, Neue Donau, Vienna.

Expect your usual quality tunes from SOR members ranging from hiphop to dub to deephouse, a little dubstep and a tiny taste of 8bit and chiptune music, nice atmosphere, cheap drinks, free entry, a sandy beach, and some special guests soon to be announced.

Also, don't forget to join the "official" kickoff on Saturday, August 1st, hosted by our friends from A Journey Into Sound, Hnzn and Perrez, featuring none less than 1020 Funk legend and hiphop don DJ Cut-Ex and other special guest TBA!

THE "WE ARE BACK UP"-DATE

Yo!

As you might have noticed already, over the last couple of days your rotaug.com experience might not have been as joyful as usual since we had some trouble with our server. But thanks to Rotaug's own mighty Berserka and Willi from Typoheads we're back online again with lots of info coming your way. Watch out!

The Vertual Vertigo Europe Tour, which started last Friday at Café Strom, Linz (Thx to Flip...) has reached a peak last Saturday in Innbruck with a great lineup and a incredible partycrowd! Thanks go out to Albi, Monomassive, Mosch and the rest of the crews for having us and Amewu, Wisdom and especially DJ Werd for their gifted life performance and for sharing the stage with us. It's been a BLAST!

But it's not over yet. The Tour continues TODAY Monday, June 8th at Café Leopold, MQ Vienna at 22:00 with FREE entry! So come bring a couple of friends if you want to enjoy a monday night like no other before...

After the Austria shows, we will be heading up to Berlin to perform at the official Vertual Vertigo "Sparkies Bungalow" CD Release party alongside Berlin based producer 8bit on Wednesday, June 10th.

Last but not least, Sonido Ojo Rojo has been hard at work too with 2 new releases coming up this summer: Hart & Zart 12" by Obahuba and Illuminate feat. 215 The Freshest Kidz 7" by DJ Kompact. Go check it out at our Release Page.

Understand the Son of Man!

We've been hard at work digesting the Release Tour of SOR002 Return of July / Blessed and are proud to present to you the first Live Cut of Rider Shafique's Son of Man over the Live production of myself, DJ Kompact. Enjoy as we enjoyed having this fabulous evening!

Since 215 The Freshest Kidz are showing us Random Love on their Myspace Page, I guess we have to show some back and make you aware of their futuristic collaboration with Berlin based producer Robot Koch. Try to check back once in a while on our Releases section, since you will be hearing more of 215:TFK later this year on Sonido Ojo Rojo!

Last but not least, Icke&Er, originators of the infamous Richtig Geil, have their own website now and rumor has it that they are planning their comeback as we speak.
