Our dear friend and Ford Brother Sebastian Brameshuber has spend the last couple of years creating a very delicate full-feature documentary about the muezzin in Turkey. It's an in-depth view on the work and art of chanting the ezan, the call to prayer, and the corresponding annual muezzin competition, whose background is often misinterpreted and sometimes remains a mystery to the outsider, even within Turkey. This feature does a very good job in sheding some light on this often overlooked artform and does so without ever being judgmental. After being invited to some renowned film festivals this year and last, Muezzin finally hits the box office starting June 18th. Here's the trailer to give you a hint of what to expect:
