... is over now, if you still don't know what to do with your precious time, here are a few tips to waste some hours/days/months this fall:
- Left4Dead is a co-op style first person shooter due to be released this november where groups of up to 4 people team up online to fight hordes of zombies (including the opposite 4 players fighting on the infected side) controlled by the AI-Director. The only objective is: Stay alive long enough to reach the safety zone at the end of each campaign.
- TeamFortress 2 has been released quite a while ago now, nevertheless it is steadily updated and always up for surprises. The unique thing about this online shooter in my opinion are the comic-like characters/classes, each of them equipped with a unique set of abilities and weapons, which can be upgraded by earning achievements. The scoreboard in the game doesn't resemble your mere kill/death statistic - assists, healing and capturing are vital points in receiving a decent score also. The game relies heavily on group effort and class balance within the teams, so the challenge is ever changing --> Warning: Highly Addictive!
As some of you might have noticed already, both of these games are decendants of the Source engine, so this is my way of honoring one of the best engines out there in my opinion and my personal favorite... have fun and don't forget to check back on your real-life from time to time.
And last but not least, speaking of zombies: I've had some trouble getting these weird creatures out of my flat a couple of nights ago...
