"I mostly make music to chill to, which is mainly sample based, but i do love my old synths too, so expect a fair amount of analogue sounds along with bits n bobs stolen from charity shop gems. Trying to concentrate on making a whole instrumental album, although I do have a fair few beats that just need some rhymes, so anyone who's up for that should message me."

that's the text written on 4teenth myspace website. the EP is a very nice 10track "album" that you can listen through from the beginning to the end without thinking  "lets forward that track" once. this shall be a recommendation for all you out there that do like smooth hip hop instrumentals with classical piano samples, "david axelrod" strings or/and little dubstep or funky breakbeat influence. the style of some tracks reminds me of the first vinyl i ever bought: "the 45 king -  grooves for a quiet storm" ...

[and if you like "this and that", also check the web for szenario beats again. i already wrote a post on him and his strictly instrumental debut release "sidestreets" two years ago and he just released his new album "schlichtes gold" with manuva from total chaos.]

... anyway: 4teenth's CD comes with a nice handnumbered and signed small slice of paper that says "there might never be an album" in the back. hopefully not! i loved to have more of that and especially on vinyl. support poverty records!
