i catch up doin something i should have done months ago, but somehow i always just missed it. i would have so totally loved to see this concert, that was taking place for the - i think - 25th anniversary of IAM in 2008. just the youtube video gives me goose-bumps every time i watsch it. also check out the live version of "nes sous la meme etoile" (youtube), one of the dopest IAM tracks and my alltime favourite ever with "demain c'est loin". shuriken get's crazy on that one! enjoy this ... As you might have noticed due to our teasers or the blogpost below ... We have a new and precious "active member/ part of our little family" representing for the female gender!!! My beloved woman and our friend:

Sira Zoé Schmid
studying at the "Academy of Fine Arts Vienna" with a main focus on "Art & Photography" she is basically working in the fields of Artistic Photography (in form of self portraits or/and analog double exposures), Fashion Photography (for young designers and friends) and Installation. A tribute to Django Reinhardt

For everyone who loves a little bit of JAZZ & Swing here's a small delicacy: 100 guitarists playing Django Reinhardts famous "Minor Swing" all together. Since it is on the ARTE+7 page of the program "Metropolis", that is available for limited time only you should enjoy THIS (link) NOW!!! I just can recommend it and above all Django's music. Its wonderfull, electrifying and just the best to get your self moving!!!

In this context I also need to recommend the Woody Allen movie "Sweet and Lowdown", which I deeply love and watched a thousend times. The "comedic biopic focused on the life of fictional jazz guitarist Emmett Ray" (Imdb), starring Jean Penn, Samantha Morton and Uma Thurman, is an homage to the Swing era. Especially moving was - besides the music - Samantha Mortons acting in the role of Hattie!!! She really touched me. So watch it and listen to the wonderfull music!!!!

Just got word from our friends over at 5boro.at, that this years Rumble in the Park, the seventh edition of their annual skate contest, will go down on Saturday, June, 26th at Skatepark Sportplatz in Gmunden, Austria.

For those of you that been there in the last years, you know what this is all about. A day of heavy skate action with austrias topatop riders as well as international guests, music provided by Rotaug DJs, loads of free giveaways, nice atmosphere and good vibes...

There are a million webradio stations out there, but only a handful of true gems. The site called "Beyond the Beat Generation" is definitly one of them.

Bene & Hooray - Just Take 45s

One of our friends from the Hillbilly Souldiers, namely DJ Hooray, just released a free double feature mix, together with german based DJ Bene, called Just Take 45's. As the title already suggests, strictly hip-hop 45's from 2009 are being used, including my own little collab with 215 The Freshest Kidz called Illuminate. Check this one out, it's definitely worth it!
