my friends i'm back from the cap with tons of photos, thoughts and influences. plus: i have recommendations to make. two must have treasures. the "jazz liberatorz - clin d'oeil" box and "dday one - heavy migration" album

"JAZZ LIBERATORZ"
is a paris based trio founded in 1999 (dj damage, dusty and madhi). released on kif records, which is a label well know for artists like birdy nam nam, pepe bradock, ... jazz liberatorz are producing mad funky, jazzy hip hop featuring the dope mcs (apani b, sadat x, j-live, raashan ahmad of cown city rockers, buckshot, tableek, fatlip, ...). "clin d'oeil" is their first full length album and it just hit the recordstores worldwide. available as a 6x12" box with the album with cd and a shirt (limited to 500 pieces). you love hip hop, you gonna love this!

"DDAY ONE"
who is definitely one of my most favourite producers since heard his first album "loop extensions" he released on a limited vinyl edition in 2006. after some appearences on several compilations (especially on project mooncircle), his new double LP "heavy migration" is out. deep basslines, kickin drums and very beautiful melancholic guidelines. the name of his official website and the statement on its first page say it all: www.samplist.com. i love it. my current album favourite: "at the village gate".

check both artists other releases if you like what you hear. they're all dope!
dday one - heavy mirgration (available on 2LP, content label)
jazz liberatorz - clin d'oeil (available on CD or in limited box with 6x12", kif records)

Build by sound artist Recompas, the VoS Sequencere is a 10 step analog sequencer, which basically steps through 10 different voltage levels that are set by the black knobs. The output control voltage and trigger signals are typically used to control pitch, filters, drum triggers and an endless number of other parameters on other synths.

The Voice of Saturn Sequencer can be bought either as a fully assembled unit or as a DIY-kit.

First up: Ed O.G.: i got to have it...

This weekend, Saturday April 19th to be more precise, two legends will be holding lectures at semper depot vienna. Since one of them is truly an austrian local hero, this is one you shouldn't miss. Here's some info about the two, provided by the RBMA, who will be hosting the lecture (sorry about the german language):

Supermax:

April 19th 2008, Semper Depot VIENNA
SUPERMAX (Universal, Wien)
DJ FUNK (Dance Mania, Ed Banger; Chicago)
Moderation: Heinz Reich & Stefan Trischler
Start: 17:00h

Don't forget the party @ Fluc Wanne afterwards hosted by RBMA and electro-nix featuring Dj Funk and many more, starting at 23:00 h !

after some difficulties on tuesday i have the remaining parts of my brain stitched together again. in the name of all, i allow myself to say thank you to all the people that were showing up and made it the nice-atmosphere, positive-vibe-party we enjoyed together! i'm sorry i lost orientation at some point but anyhow, i was ending up in bed after a little nap outside (but at least i smiled, mognes said)

a big thank you and shout out to julia from susihaus for making this short-termed crazyness possible, bearing us and keeping all the things we have lost until i picked it up the next day. the coca-cola you gave me "saved" my (tues)day eve by the way.

for all the people that missed that one! it was not the last one!
