The 7th Edition of "Rumble in the Park" was once again an awesome event for those who love skate action. In a stunning atmo, the athletes gave their last to win this prestigous contest, and battled hard for the title "King of the Park".

It was a take over of the new generation as local 16 year old hero Marco Kada took the trophy for Street Sponsored in style and Ali Berger won Mini Ramp Sponsored.

Oh yeah, Manuel Knoflach & Rotaug´s Gandl did a nice job with this years Rumble in the Park - Video... CHECK IT

Our favourite UK MC, a man named Rider Shafique has a feature track called "Space to breathe" on the upcoming debut album from transatlantic producer duo Herma Puma. Classic material...

After 17 years as producer and MC of the Austrian HipHop legends TEXTA, FLIP finally comes around with his solo album called "Umberto Ghetto". FLIP is Umberto Ghetto, an alter ego, first used for the album "Die Unsichtbaren" (for those who know). The peculiar title stands for the hip hop socialization of FLIP, where "Umberto" stands for the European, philosophical element and "ghetto" for the roots of hip-hop as street culture, that originated in the devastated ruins of the South Bronx in the 70s. "Umberto Ghetto" stands for plain rap. Rap in its most diverse forms and styles. Expressive, uncompromising, oscillating in all directions, dazzling, wordplay and flow in its purest form.

Ex Co-Founder of Slum-TV Alexander Nicolic started a new project in Vienna after giving the responsibility for the Slum-TV project to the local members. Another 5 year project? We, hope SO! Together with two artists friends, he took over a yugoslavian worker's bar in the 16th district. Why, yugoslavian? Well, we have more than 200000 ppl living in this town, and many of them came as yugoslavian workers here. Of course the dramatic events of the last decades did generate a division based on ethnical categories, but one is theory - another thing is the every day live of the working class. Nothing is ideal here, but in every day live, in Vienna, these workers still mingle, regardless where they come from. Is it the common language, the austrian discrimination or something else, which hold's them together?

Next to the bar, they opened a space, which they use as a gallery in a way, as rehearsal venue for public space projects, as cultural center, which intends always to include the locals. To generate a social and political space, where academic discourse can meet working class issues. The first exhibition is as well opened. The Beauty of Work, by Andrej Filev is processual and will be closed on 11th of July, with a huge party.

Of Our Own Magazine - Costa Mesa, California

i just got the first issue of OOO-Magazine some days ago. with an incredibly nice - 5stars - Glen Porter 7inch called "Smile Now, Cry Later" but that's another story.

Anyhow, I flipped through the pages during my last subway and tramrides, looking at the featured b/w artworks (basically located in a graffiti, graphic and comic, ... context), reading the essays (about music, artists, sticker culture,...) and i must say: i absolutely enjoyed it.

Especially a text about John Coltrane and Flying Lotus that is trying to bring up similarities within their individual approaches in making music and what could be a connecting point between jazz (analog) and electronic music. I also found out, that Alice Coltrane was Flying Lotus's great aunt ...

I scanned the first page of the 6, so that you can make yourself a picture. To find out how this story ends. by the way: the size of the magazine is A6, which is perfect for bumpy "rides", cause you still have one free hand, haha. buy it, support it! handnumbered and ltd. 5$ should not make a difference. volume two was released 5 days ago.
