A little while ago I put this instrumental together and wondered how it would sound with vocals. First choice: Shok Therapy's S.O.S (Original version on the next tape) just worked more quite well as I would say. One of those tracks I love Hip Hop for by the way. "You may listen to the words they speak", but that's another story to tell. Enjoy the outcome. Feedback very much welcome. Still working on the instrumental, but I thought: "What the hack - why not share this version!" For promotional use only. Instrumental, downloads and more, ...  to come as soon as everything is really finished and properly mastered. Till then: Attenzione! Attenzione! Trippy and addictive ...

... is a multi-talented artist and producer coming straight from the streets of Kingston, Jamaica with a unique musical style blending the lyricism of Hip hop, with the energy and melody of Reggae and Dancehall.

“To me....Reggae and Hip Hop go hand in hand....when they procreate, Rebel Music is born! Some believe that each art form must remain pure....I’m not here to oppose. But fusion is the foodstuff of evolution, and evolution is constant - both physically and spiritually” Kabaka Pyramid

He has just released his “Rebel Music” EP which is free to the public at www.kabakapyramid.bandcamp.com.

It has been a while since I last found the time to make a mixtape. 9 months to be exact - what a horribly long time - I'll try to not let that happen again; for my own health!!! However; I felt the urge to put a little something together and during the two weeks of "Krankenstand" after my involuntary stay in hospital three weeks ago I finally dugg through the "tons" of new arrivals from the last months and of course my old beloved ones. There it is: Part I of the "Post Hospital Sessions" called "Home Again & Off We Take" bringing you one side of straight indie boom bap including some quite rare records and another one with wobbly, glitchy and futuristic stuff "trippin" on pain-killers space bonus. Two or three more 30 minute sides will follow as part II of the hospital sessions but for now enjoy this one. Side A, B, & print-tapesize cover for free download HERE. Listen to side A on mixcloud there.

A lot of things happened over the last weeks and it probably seemed like i have been in hiding; but wrOOOOng, I have been mixtapeing (coming soon) and in a status of employee's illness. However; it now IS time to announce the upcoming release of one of my 2011 most favourite albums called "Lone Sharks" by "The Doppelgangaz" aka Matter ov Fact & EP. Unagitated, flawless and flowing raps over deep smooth atmospheric jazzy and bouncing instrumentals! It couldn't hit my nerves more precisely actually. The album has been released digitally and on CD at the end of June. I of course had to immediately ask if; when there will be a vinyl release. Now here it is: "Uuuuuup and coming" beginning of September. I'm sure it was not because of my heavy commenting on the videos calling for wAAAAAAAAx :D but anyways: "i'm looking forward to it". Check the video, shot in a spooky house in Goshen, Indiana, where serial killer "Nathaniel White" burried some of his victims. Great track!

Also coming beginning of September: All that missed out on the 2001 "From Artz Unknown" debut LP by Kankick; NOw is your chance. It's going to be re-issued as 3LP including a bonus instrumental LP. Don't sleep on that one; my 2001 original goes for 130€. What else is there to come? The "Will Sessions - The Elmatic Instrumentals". Yeah. The instrumentals :) plus my friend Lex de Kalhex did let me know that the Kalhex LP will be released on wax too together with hhv last quarter of the year. Peace! You can get a free download of Elzhi with Will Sessions - Elmatic via Elzhi.com by the way ... Enjoy!

greetings from the tauern region mountain tops, ... the coverphoto actually resembles the view i have from my room since 5 days a little bit :)

but to cut a long story short: more information on the record. "The Formal Female" was originally released as a very rare private press in 1972 ... BUT got a very nice 180g vinyl reissue in 2008. "JW Farquhar" gets all the credits on this project for singing and playing all instruments. although he credited some presumably non-existent musicians on the backsleeve... loving that actually :D "Riffery Lowknut" on fender bass, "Slash Mullethead" on percussion, and "Callust Likfinker" on lead guitar!" ... great fake names as i would say ... However, once in a while one has to drift on some psych rock. Very much recommended this one and definitely perfect for some freeride action sequences... the whole record is like one long big medley. Enjoy!!!

"2011's most un-hyped rap release has arrived" - finally in my postbox and crates too ... "It's by a group so under-the-radar that even its record label, All City, or the photographer who shot the mysterious image on its album's cover, Sue Kwon, have no idea who the two people in it are - other than that the duo once went by the name "The Midnight Eez" and claimed a home base somewhere deep in the Bronx." (the village voice, sound of the city)

Follow the village voice link. A very good statement to which there is nothing much to add; about this release, it being a "fond reminder of the wholesome joy of putting faith in the music" back then and the situation of being recognized as an artist or not ...

What I can most definitely say after listening to it several times is this: a very solid and emotionally varying - 30 minutes long - journey through 14 (very well remastered) instrumentals produced by "The Midnight Eez" between 1995 and 1996. A comment i made about one track called "night walk" earlier this week: "in a state of inner peace while listening to this". And I have nothing more to say than that. Very much recommended this one and - on top - it comes for a veeeery reasonable price. As long as supplies last i suppose!

Thank you All-City for digging this one out and making it affordable for anyone buying records and trying to support artists.

Dope video to femcee Akua Naru´s single "The world is listening" from her debut album "A journey aflame".

Akua and the Digiflo Rhythm Combo (drums, bass & dj) will be performing LIVE at our upcoming MASH MASH (28/5/2011). Make sure you don´t miss this!
