We are here at the turntable terranova, it means we are taking over. Edition 12. The Raw Glazed Issue. A very very special live affair, we proud to welcome musicians from the infamous SK INVITATIONAL BAND featuring FLIP (Texta), LYLIT (Kedar Ent.) and THAIMAN (Rotaug), hip hop in a big bad big band style. SK left their marks on austrian music landscape with their album "Raw Glazed", souled out tours with TY (BBE Records), Texta, Blumentopf and more, as well as nominees for the Austrian Grammys (aka Amadeus Awards :D).
On the turntables they will be accompanied by Sonido Ojo Rojo´s LENS J., plus (+) we are introducing our latest ROTAUG MEMBER SUGAR CANE, who´ll please y´all with some serious soul funk dope beat magic.

Upcoming Vernissage by our friend photographer Bernhard Bruckner called S(ch)ichtwechsel on April 9th, 2011 at Museum Alte Hofmühle (Mühlenring 2, 2020 Hollabrunn).
"Everyday, as we move through urban enviroment, we pass literally millions of glossy billboards, smiling spotlight models and products that enter our (sub) consciousness as if they were silent companions, always competing for our attention. But urban space is rare and our attention span is short..."

Wubdise´s Record of the Week:
Cornell Campbell
The Gorgon Dubwise
Jamaican Recordings 2009
“The soulful voice of Cornell Campbell has created so many fine tunes and voice has been sprinkled over countless dub albums that might unknowingly already lie in your collections. As his vast catalogue of Rasta influence, Lovers Rock, cover versions and Dancehall and Gorgon tinged tracks are so intertwined with the whole 1970s Reggae Era…”

Go-like simplicism seems to be the philosophy that prevails in the domain of digital live controllers. anyhow...
mlrv:
...works on grid-based music contollers like the monome, livid ohm/block, novation launchpad, and akai apc/mpd. the software allows a sound file or live recording to be mapped across each row and assigned a triggering behavior.
Within this simple set of constraints and a complete MIDI + OSC remote control system, the performer of electronic music can be freed from the laptop, and at the very least appear to be doing something interesting.
further it is:
open source software, free to download and use. if you like it and find it becoming a part of your musical process (like we have), we ask that you consider contributing to its further development by purchasing a +supporter or +benefactor license...
The artists in the videos below are altitude sickness and galapagoose, both working on mlrv 2.0.
