Dear Rotaug Fam, as we are finally back online i take the liberty to introduce you to a release i was mentioning and looking forward to for a couple of months already.

The "Perfect Picture" 2LP by Lex de Kalhex. Released on Kalhex's own label Akromégalie Records. After nerding on hip hop, art and music over the net for quite some time I had the pleasure to meet Alex in Paris last december. Sitting in some fastfood restaurant (it was the only place where we could stay longer without someone blaming us for not consuming more) I had the chance to listen to the whole album and some other upcoming projects ... and I loved each and every track i heard.

Basically you can expect a very well selected and from beginning to end elaborated jazz based, boom bapish Hip Hop album in a mid 90ties Godfather Don, Kev Brown, Grap Luva or Pete Rock tradition. Great beats combined with very well selected and compared to Damu the Fudgemunk's "Supply for Demand" rather unknown samples. This is one of those releases none of you out there, that diggs Hip Hop should ever miss. And on top it comes in a very limited edition of 300 - as far as i know.

Also make sure you check Kalhex debut LP "Kalhex" from 2009. An underground French Rap diamond from Paris. Great beats, great conscious lyrics ... just great! And i don't say this cause i consider Alex a friend and part of my extended fam. i mean it! Peace and WATCH OUT! COMING VERY SOON!

This one has been around for quite a while now, and now that we got a load of webspace to waste, I figure it's the right time for it to see the light of day: I'm talking about our next featured mix (#03 I believe it is) by DJ HNZN, who has helped us out a lot of times technically and sound-support-wise. It's called oimsee 2k10 - a quite long and very eclectic kinda mix with all sorts of genres being mashed together, just the way we would get down ourselves! Get it here:

Last but not least, another little goodie I recently came across and wanted to share but couldn't, due to our server failure. It is a mini-documentary of a very innovative label, to say the least, that was founded by Peanutbutter Wolf back in '96 and brought you gems like Lootpack, Charizma, Medaphoar, Yesterday's New Quintet and many more. It is also the label that recently made some solid commercial success with Aloe Blacc's "Good Things". Needless to say, I'm talking about Stones Throw which is covered in this short. The movie was made by Sébastien Bauer & Lucas Blaya and I personally hope that this will turn out to become a full-length any time soon.

We're back again!!!

Finally we are back online again on a fresh new server and all systems running smoothly.

So be prepared for new exciting content, mixes and features in the next weeks and months to come!

Here is a quick overview what happend:

One hard disk in our old server died after 3 years of reliable service. As we had the data mirrored in a Raid setup, we first thought that it wouldn't be much of a hassle to recover all the files from the still functional second disc. But it is never as easy as it should be. After lots of experimenting and transferring huge amounts of data from Vienna to Berlin (where I'm located) we were able to recover all our files. Big props go to Linux wizard Dima. Without him we wouldn't have made it. We owe you big time!

We then rented and setup a new server and started uploading our files which took a couple of days.

I hope everthing works as before. If you notice any errors or bugs please let me know.
