just finished the first part of my website about my diploma work "la disparition - le mur d'atlantique autour de cap ferret". its a work about the disappearing of parts of the atlantic wall, that was built by the nazis; how this disappearing takes places and on which levels (nature, time, human, ...) it occures. history thats disappearing in the sea or sand; but also disappearing because of the function people give those relicts now. by writing graffiti on them or using them as party locations and much more. there are nice parallels to how "disappearing" of history in the human brain works. "out of sight! out of mind!" link to website: http://lens.rotaug.com/la_disparition

Songbird 1.0 Interface
Songbird 1.0 Interface

Songbird, the open source cross-platform media player, is now available in the 1.0 version with tons of features and available addons.

I've been watching the development of Songbird since it was first announced and installed it every once in a while, but it never was stable enough to keep it as my default media player.

But with yesterdays official release this has changed. I've been testing it throughout the last 2 days an I'm really pleased with its performance and features.

The only downside is that it is still missing my most wanted feature for a media player: "Watch Folders" (automatic scans of your mp3 folder for updates and adding those to your library), but this is scheduled on the roadmap for february next year. I guess I can wait another 3 months for that feature.

So if you're sick and tired of the restrictions of iTunes you might consider to give the bird a try!!!
