Today the Music World mourns the passing of Reggae-Legend
Alton Ellis, who died last night after a long struggle against the
effects of lymphatic cancer. His talent and influence was immense
and his loss will be felt by all who ever had the pleasure of his
company. A kind and modest man, he always had time for his
family, friends and fans, and his loss is more than a terrible blow
not only to jamaican music, but to the world at large!

Rest in Peace, Big Man!

ALL HAIL THE FORD!

Sorry for the short notice, but I'm heading out right now with a chair in my left hand to support a more humane law on integrated asylum seekers in austria. The demonstration in Vienna starts 10:00 AM at Ballhausplatz. You can find more dates/locations/infos HERE.

continuing my little post-show series on the big bad Crazy Talk mix, here I come with two wicked 2k riddims! start up with Jeremy Hardings "Liquid Riddim" (2001) followed by "The Bug" (1999) from one of the main reggae-dancehall producers: Dave Kelly! you liked my bug-remix on CT pt.2? you´ll love the full lenght
riddim mix.. ...squeeze it!

recently i´ve read an article about the impact of the surveillance system in the UK. the amazing fact presented, was that when it comes to efficiency, the CCTV system, to put it in the words of Chief Inspector Mick Neville of the London Metropolitan police, is a total fiasco and a waste of public monies.

Just had to share some pics of this beautiful vintage portable record player, that T gave me as a birthday present. A Geloso Stereofonica produced in Milano in the 60ies. Check this Geloso collectors site for more or this site to read more about the live of company founder and inventor Giovanni Geloso.

Left4Dead
TeamFortress 2

... is over now, if you still don't know what to do with your precious time, here are a few tips to waste some hours/days/months this fall:

  • Left4Dead is a co-op style first person shooter due to be released this november where groups of up to 4 people team up online to fight hordes of zombies (including the opposite 4 players fighting on the infected side) controlled by the AI-Director. The only objective is: Stay alive long enough to reach the safety zone at the end of each campaign.
  • TeamFortress 2 has been released quite a while ago now, nevertheless it is steadily updated and always up for surprises. The unique thing about this online shooter in my opinion are the comic-like characters/classes, each of them equipped with a unique set of abilities and weapons, which can be upgraded by earning achievements. The scoreboard in the game doesn't resemble your mere kill/death statistic - assists, healing and capturing are vital points in receiving a decent score also. The game relies heavily on group effort and class balance within the teams, so the challenge is ever changing --> Warning: Highly Addictive!

As some of you might have noticed already, both of these games are decendants of the Source engine, so this is my way of honoring one of the best engines out there in my opinion and my personal favorite... have fun and don't forget to check back on your real-life from time to time.

And last but not least, speaking of zombies: I've had some trouble getting these weird creatures out of my flat a couple of nights ago...

As you have all already listened to my new mixtape "calling all massive elk vol. 01" and the Dubmood "shook ones edit" (old site) on it, i can post, what i already wanted and should have posted some months ago, when i stumbled upon it.
